Oh wow everything we had was stunning and the small portions make it easy to try a bit of everything. We had wayy too much food yet I regret nothing. My favorite was the curry from the northern specialities, absolutely stunning and unique taste (after living in Asia for 10 years it was still a very surprising flavour) but everything was fantastic. The khao soi was my least favorite (bit plain, not very flavourful) but everything else It is quite small and known by tourists so be prepared to wait for a bit outside but 1000% worth it

This is a unique little place with visiting. The staff were attentive and the owner clearly cares about her establishment. Explaining and recommending specialty dishes. We enjoyed the Chicken Satay and a curry (which was still a bit spicy for my husband). Very reasonably priced and delicious food.

Theres a reason why this place has a wait! Food is delicious just as the reviews say. I recommend getting to the restaurateur by 6, 630 to ensure you get a table or go for lunch. Food is incredible. I got the wings, pad thai and pineapple fried rice and they were there best I've had in asia.

Great food with limited seating, we had to wait in a queue for some minutes. Owner was very helpful while ordering. Everything was fresh and Pad Thai was phenomenal with juicy chicken and peanut sauce. Also liked the Morning Glory but the curry didn’t satisfy me.

Absolutely incredible experience at Barrab! The owner took the time to explain the entire menu in detail, which made the meal feel personalized. The Hang Curry with Roti was the standout—the curry was perfectly balanced and booming with flavor. We definitely recommend ordering the fresh roti which is expertly made and compliments the curry perfectly. The corn salad with tom sum was bursting with flavor and refreshing on a hot day. Even the drinks are fresh and vibrant. Highly recommended if you want high-quality food and great service. Definitely our favorite meal in Chiang Rai!

What a gem of a restaurant!! The food is outstanding- omg!! May and the service are fantastic at guiding you to experience each dish you order. We tried a variety of tasting dishes and a couple of main ones, so we could make the most of it and share - highly recommend this move. If you visit Chiang Rai, this is a must visit to try authentic northern Thai food. May also has a cooking class - we will be back for that

Wonderful local Thai restaurant in the Chiang Rai region. The staff is incredibly kind and welcoming, making you feel at home from the moment you arrive. The food is full of flavor and clearly made with care. The Khao Soi soup is a must-try—rich, creamy, and perfectly spiced. Dish number 21 was also excellent, with a great balance of bold flavors. Highly recommended if you want authentic Northern Thai food and warm hospitality.

Cosy Thai fusion cafe with exciting flavours beautifully plated. Small space so a reservation is better for larger groups (6 of us), otherwise be prepared to wait. Owner/server is warm and helpful in making recommendations.
